Indian Kitchen Foods 🇮🇳
A full e-commerce build for a ready-to-eat Indian food brand — wishlist, cart, and secure online payment — that turned a product line with no direct-to-consumer channel into an online store shipping to six countries.
How we got there.
01 The Challenge
Indian Kitchen Foods had a product line ready for online retail — ready-to-eat meals and everyday Indian staples — but no way to sell it directly. Without e-commerce infrastructure, every sale still depended on physical retail, capping the brand's reach at whatever shelf space it could win.
02 Research
We mapped how customers actually shop for ready-to-eat food online — what makes them add to cart versus abandon, and what reassurance they need before trusting a food brand with a card payment for the first time.
03 Strategy
Build a conversion-focused storefront around three things: fast product discovery, a frictionless checkout, and enough payment flexibility that no customer bounces at the last step — whether they're paying by UPI, card, net banking, or cash on delivery.
04 Design Process
The storefront was designed around appetite first — large, warm product photography and a “Ready-Made Happiness in Every Bite” positioning that sells the experience of the food, not just the SKU.
05 Development
We built full e-commerce functionality on top of the new design: product and category pages, a wishlist, a persistent cart, and secure checkout through Razorpay covering UPI, cards, net banking, and cash on delivery — fully responsive for mobile, where most food-delivery-habituated customers actually shop.
06 Marketing
Once live, the store began fulfilling orders from customers in the United States, Germany, Thailand, Canada, the Philippines, and the United Kingdom — markets Indian Kitchen Foods had no direct sales channel into before the site existed.
The exact process, step by step.
From first brand conversation to a signed OEM tie-up.
Customer Journey Research
Studied how customers shop for ready-to-eat food online — what drives an add-to-cart and what causes checkout abandonment specifically for a first-time food e-commerce buyer.
Storefront & Brand Design
Designed a warm, appetite-first storefront built around the “Ready-Made Happiness in Every Bite” positioning, with product photography doing most of the persuading.
E-Commerce Build
Built product pages, category navigation, a wishlist, and a persistent shopping cart on a fully responsive, mobile-first foundation.
Payment & Checkout Integration
Integrated Razorpay to support UPI, cards, net banking, and cash on delivery — removing payment method as a reason to abandon checkout.
Launch & International Fulfilment
Went live and began fulfilling orders from customers across six countries the brand had never directly sold into before.
The outcome.
The rebuild replaced a retail-only sales model with a direct-to-consumer channel that immediately started converting — a 60% increase in ROI and a 37% boost in on-site engagement, with real orders arriving from customers across six countries within the first stretch after launch.
“We had the product. We didn't have a way to sell it. Within weeks of launch we were shipping orders to six countries we'd never sold to before.”
